The Japanese-style adventure game “Crystal Chaser” has been renewed. A new chapter unfolds in the adventure story of Takanoshin and Noichigo!
The mystical country of Nipon, where past and future mingle.
A mysterious group, the "Ankoku-tō," led by "Nuehime," has been seeking the "Orb of the Sky" in Nipon for some time.
Meanwhile, our hero, "Shimmen Takanoshin," was working a part-time job with his childhood friend "Noichigo" to fund his journey to become a samurai. It was then that the Ankoku-tō attacked Noichigo's shrine.
Meanwhile, our hero, "Shimmen Takanoshin," was working a part-time job with his friend "Noichigo" to fund his journey to become a samurai. It was then the Ankoku-tō attacked Noichigo's shrine.
"Shimmen Gōtetsu," Takanoshin's father and a master of the Shimmen-ryū sword style, confronted the Ankoku-tō to save an old friend but was defeated by Nuehime's bizarre magic.
Just then, the Ankoku-tō stole the shrine's sacred object before Takanoshin's eyes.
— The sacred object's name was the "Orb of the Sky (sky)" —
Though no one could use its hidden power, it was undoubtedly a "Orb of the Sky."
Takanoshin, taking his injured father's place, sets out with Noichigo to retrieve the magic crystal and confront the Ankoku-tō.
This was the beginning of Shimmen Takanoshin's turbulent journey.
This is a refined version of a 1991 adventure game, with this updated version released by GameCorpus in 2023. Players become Takanoshin Shimmen, who must track down the "Orb of the Sky" stolen from his childhood friend, Noichigo.
The game uses a command-based system for intuitive play. Although there's a slight mismatch between the graphics and the tone of the story, it's an enjoyable narrative.
The original staff expanded the story from 7 chapters to 9 and updated each one. Many new elements have been added, including a completely new chapter, a full remake of the final chapter, new characters, and "Intermission Theater R," which offers mini-episodes of the characters.
