I was a cook, preparing various dishes. At seventeen, I fell in love with Rina, the only daughter of the Head Chef.

At the age of twenty, I proposed. Though it was a perfectly ordinary proposal that made me want to cry, Rina smiled and nodded. However, the Head Chef refused to give his blessing. Raising his eyebrows into an angry frown, he hurled a teacup at me and screamed, "Never!" Rina comforted me, saying, "Father was just upset. He'll forgive us in a few days."

Just as Rina said, three days later, the Head Chef granted our marriage—but only on one condition: I must complete my training in Kitchen Land. Kitchen Land is a place where none of this world's rules of physics apply. Apples hop like rabbits, and shumai dance. Few people who ventured to Kitchen Land for training have ever returned.
